Title: Aluminium mud guards
Post by: johncor on February 17, 2009, 04:49:55 PM
I have a 1960 Triumph Tiger 100A and wish to fit Aluminiun mud guards. Can anyone tell me where I can get generic polished aluminium mud guards to fit 17" wheels, front 4" and rear 6" tomodify and fit. It looks as though the outer radius of the guard needs to be about 320mm.

I always use Trialsbits.co.uk as being the cheapest and best around.

Think you may struggle to get a good line with 17 inchers though, and nothing looks worse (to my eye) than a 'guard which doesn't follow the wheel nicely and with an even clearance.

Look at most BSA A7/10s with ali rear guard to see how it should NOT be done.... ;)

I agree with the comment re the mud guard closely following the line of the wheel and will try Trialsbits.co.uk I have had no luck elsewhere

I have an 18" rear and  19" front wheels on my bike, and they fit just fine. There is a certain amount of leeway when fitting 'guards, but I'm more than happy with the fit of mine.
Never seen a 21" rear tyre anyway...

They seem to give the guard dimension, not the tyre. No reply from my auto-cycle to my email of Saturday
