Title: T140 CRANKCASE TORQUE SETTINGS
Post by: sTe140Ve on July 29, 2009, 01:44:18 PM
The Triumph manual says tighten the crankcase junction bolts to 1.8 KGM and the studs to 2.8KGM. I am sure this must be correct but why are the two settings so different? It seems odd to tighten the fixings so unevenly.

Less torque is specified for the "bolts" as they would normally screw directly into the soft alloy and are coarse (UNC) threaded, (as fine threads into alloy would strip easily).
