Title: Honda plating. Is it chrome?
Post by: acollins22 on May 10, 2006, 05:42:36 AM
Hi Folks,

I've just bought my first restoration project, a 1971 Honda CD175 and I already have more questions than I can answer :-)
Hopefully someone can help me out.

The first is what sort of plating would have been used on the shiny bits? I'm assuming chrome but am I right or is it nickel?

Thanks in advance.

Andy.

Mostly chrome plate on things like mudguards, handlebars etc.
Nuts, bolts, screws are more likely to be bright zinc plate (BZP).

Thanks L.A.B that's what I expected but I thought I'd better check.

Cheers.
