Post by: gordon750 on July 28, 2006, 12:43:53 AM
hi everyone  ;) new to furm and i've got a quick question, just bought a cb750f 1977 and am unsure which fuel to use, will it run on normal un leaded or does it require LRP or an additive to unleaded petrol, thanks for your help, Gordon.

Hi Gordon
Welcome to the forum.
Your bike will run fine on unleaded. I have a K7 and it has done thousands of miles on unleaded no trouble. In fact we had these things when they were new and the deales told us to run them on the old two star!
One point of caution though. Unleaded fuel has been known to corrode the bottom of the fuel tank on older tanks which then deposits rust in the fuel tap. Interestingly this does not appear to happen on newer vehicles. Also some old fuel tanks take unleaded without problem. Just something for you to keep your eye on.
