Title: new to the site and hello

just saying hello.

im just starting to get into older/classic bikes and have managed to get hold of CB550 from a relatives garage. my intention is to find out as much about it as possible and then decide what to do with it. have posted a question in another thread asking if any one can tell me what year it was made, what model etc.

any comments aprreciated

they were built from 1974 through to 78
some were still being sold into the early 80's

post a pic and we'll have a go at identifying it :D

basically all years are he same. the only difference is cosmetic between the f and k models.
the f being the spory model and the k being the touring version.
and the only difference between the two is the exhaust system and the seat.
since you have both those items not in the photo it could be either :D
how are you getting on with it??

Hello and congrats on the new bike. It looks like she needs  a lot of work but I'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. Just stick with it and don't get discouraged. I just got my first 76 CB550 a couple months ago and I've been wrenching on it ever since. If you like, you can see it at my CB550  (http://www.somemonkey.com)blog. Hopefully you will find something useful on the site.
