hi, I have a norman hyde trident t160v 1976 ,its a 900cc of which there was only 3 ever done by hyde ( I have the original letter from hyde to vericate that ) they said they done lots of 850cc and 1000cc but only 3 of the 900cc so not to alter it! it has got 23k on clock and is the original mileige . The bike is in pristine condition as has been in garage for a number of years greased up from our winters . what i was wondering is this bike worth any real money as was thinking of maybee selling it , thanks threepot

I never knew that Hyde made any 900cc road versions so is certainly rare!
Although I'm not sure that will add much to the value? Tridents with Hyde parts may fetch a bit more than a standard model and may appeal to a particular type of Trident enthusiast (like myself possibly as I have a Hyde 1000cc T160) but the overall condition will be just as important.
T160 Tridents in excellent condition are normally advertised for around £4000-4500 at the moment.

hi like i said only 3 were ever done thats why hyde said not to alter it as far as i know it might be the only 1 left over the years and its in a1 con , regards threepot

Do you have any details of the conversion?
Is it just a straight big bore kit or has the crankshaft stroke been altered like the 1000cc (973cc) kit?

parts fitted wereshell bearings,piston rings,valve guids,mushroom head adjusters,rear sprocket+carrier+chain,primary chain,gearbox sprocket,clutch plate,gaskets with the 900 kit the engine is 67mmbore by 82mmstroke which gives 867cc regards threepot

Thanks!
So the same longer crank stroke as the 1000cc kit has, but with standard size pistons instead of 71mm.
