Title: How To Advance or Retard 1930 VL 74 HD??

How do I advance or retard the spark on a 1930 VL74 that no longer has the hand control on the handlebars? There is a small device on top of the left side of the case just above the clutch actuaor rod is that it? It is a threaded rod that goes into the case, has a spring around it and a right angle clip that looks like a flag on the top? I took a good photo but not sure how to upload it here so pleaaasssee. Not familiar with the VL's personally. Try Steve Slocombe at VL Heaven in Folkestone UK, he's a very knowledgeable and helpful chap.

Steve Slocombe it THE MAN when it comes to old Harley VLs.
