I'm thinking of buying a 1964 Vespa VBB. Are bikes of this era exempt from current road laws i.e. no indicators etc?

Various laws that have been introduced since the vehicle was first registered will not apply to it so indicators are not necessary, but if any lighting equipment is fitted whether originally required or not must be in working order (for MOT purposes at least).
