Hello
I bought this bike some weeks ago.
The buyer says 1910; Can somebody says if this year seems correct ? what do you think about this ?
Of course it is not running, but I hope to restore it soon !
I have a doubt about the color of the skeleton: binds wine red (in France ....)
Do you know some RE bike with this color ?
Sorry for my poor english
Thank you for your response
sincerely

Hello Bob
Many thanks for your response
About the frame number, nothing have be seen, may be I do not know where to look !!
But the engine number is G259J and above 2439
The "J" is not shure, may be "I"
Good day
sincerely

Hello Henri,
The English authorities always dated a motorcycle by the frame number. It is the important number to find.
The VMCC register of machines lists 9 Royal Enfields similar to yours with similar engine numbers. These range from a 1914 model with engine number G654 to a 1920 model with engine number G3691. The ones closest to yours are G2148 (1915) and G2711 (1916).
For better informatio you need to find the frame number.
Cheers, Bob

Hi Bob
I have just found the frame number on the vertical tube of direction:
409625
it was hidden by painting.
Thank you for information which you could give me
I wish you a good day
Sincerely

Hello Henri,
I'm pleased you found the frame number. Such a long number is unusual and from my VMCC list I can only find them used by Royal Enfield in the 1919-23 era. I have no really accurate information.
I suggest you contact the English Vintage Motor Cycle Club (VMCC) through their website. They should be able to tell you the exact year of your bike.
I don't think your bike is as early as 1910 but it is very nice and very much a sporting bike. That model Royal Enfield has a good reputation.
Best of luck, Bob
