Title: P Model Piston

Could anyone advise me as to where I could get an original piston for a P Model triumph from.

You might be lucky enough to find an original cast iron piston at an autojumble/swapmeet, otherwise an alloy substitute would be quite acceptable.
I may be able to help if you contact me direct with numbers and letters from your machine for my research records. You may also be interested in the booklet which I have written which covers the Model P, in my 'Triumph - The Facts' series of booklets.

Cheers Peter for your advice, I have tried all that you mentioned & some more, to date I have tried toyota celica pistons ( same bore different gudegeon & pin height) plenty of work on the lathe but they work, the main issue I have is they melt down, dont know if it is running lean that causes it, some other P Models in the club dont seem to have the same problem, but all built the same, if you have any ideas or possible explanation please advise.
