Mark, was your Grandfather in the UK at the time ? If so, the Registration number is a Middlesex series issued from August 1928 - June 1929.

Thanks for the replys guys,My grandfather lived all his life in the uk spending 50 years working for Napier & sons engine works.the bike is a lot earlyier than i thought.
I also looked at the bike suggested and it is pretty close to same,my chances of finding another is pretty non existent if they are that rare.Have attached another pic with him sitting on it for you to look at,i will also put other bike in real soon to identify.
Thanks for everything
Mark

Napiers were in Acton which I think would have still been Middlesex in those days so that ties in with the registration and the model fits the dates.
The fact that his bike is now 'uncommon' doesn't always mean that it will be impossible to find. It might just take a while ! You're looking for one particular model whereas most of us just buy something that takes our fancy.
I'd suggest wanted ads in the specialist press but make sure that you've got the cash waiting and that you have an idea of shipping costs if you don't find one in Australia.
