Hello,

I found myself in a similar position a few years back and got one...  and I haven't been disappointed.  I got a 1958 DBD34 and have enjoyed every minute of it.  Just be careful that you are getting what you are paying for - there are more Goldies around now than were ever made, and some of them are very good fakes.  If you are really serious, I would suggest joining the Gold Star Owners Club.  Members often sell their machines through the club mag (had a quick look this month, but there's only a DBD32 for sale) and they will also be able to check validity of engine/frame numbers of any bike you are interested in.  If I can be of any help, let me know - and good luck!

BTW, you can see my Goldie on the mousemat at http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/Shopping/Mousemats/Goldiemat/Goldiemat.htm

Cheers

Nigel.
