Title: EVER SEEN A CUB WITH THIS REAR???
Post by: frostbyte on October 11, 2005, 08:25:40 PM
I have a triumph cub im trying to sell at the moment, its getting quite a few comments because it has a plunger rear end . All the pics ive seen not one is of a cub with this rear?? People have made the comment that this could be a terrier but the numbers are as follows frame=T10348 and Engine=T20 10348 . Here is a link to have a look at the pics of it  http://www.trademe.co.nz/structure/auction_detail.asp?id=37737885
Any info on this bike would greatly be appreciated Cheers!!

The engine number would give the year as 1955 so the plunger rear end would be correct I believe?

The parts book and other information of the period also shows a plunger rear for that period.

Hi,
What you have there is a 1954 Tiger Cub. They first came with the small plunger shocks in the back; similar to the Terrier, and then migrated to the swingarm later on.

I hope this helps,

Zach ;)

1954 Tiger Cub.

But the engine/frame numbers (T10348) would seem to place it firmly in the 1955 model year production (from 8518-17388)?
