Title: Triumph t120r oil check

Ive just bought a 1971 Triumph T120 R (oil in frame) How do I check the oil?? it hasnt got a dipstick. I read somewhere a while ago that you stick your finger in the filler and if you can touch the oil then its ok Is that right?? Thanks for help re this matter.

Buy the later 71-3463 cap with integral dipstick?

Any good Triumph parts supplier should keep them in stock.
