Title: BSA B40 ELECTRICAL PROBLEM
Post by: bgreene30 on June 13, 2010, 05:53:18 AM
Hi everyone. I am just finishing putting back together a 1962 BSA B40 350CC and am experiencing the following issues and think I know what may be the problem but need all of your expertise to really identify it.

1: i installed a solid state rectifier and it gets warm to hot when installed with no components on

2: When I turned over the motor (with the spark plug wire disconnected as I did not want it to start) the needle on the ammeter went to the negative side of the dial. When I turned it over again, the ammeter slowly went all the way to the negative scale of the gauge

What is going on?

Thanks so much for your help in advance.

Cheers

Bob

Hi Bob

It sounds to me that you need to recheck the wiring is correct. A slight error somewhere I think.
