Title: Early float bowl
Post by: 33_Trophy on August 14, 2010, 12:47:30 PM
Hi,
Bought a nice float bowl on a swap meet. Does not know where it belongs? It is late 10s or early 20s. One guy thought it might be early Brown Barlow. Any ideas?

Not B&B, but early Triumph - probably veteran.

Mmm... Your parts list illustration shows the later type Triumph carb: veteran fuel bowls clamp on like your swap meet find, but the detail of the clamp is slightly different? All the Triumph ones I can see have the clamp directly opposite the fuel bowl, whereas yours clamps at 90 degrees. This illustration shows the 1911 carb, and comes from Ruud van Bijnen's Veteran Triumph site http://www.veterantriumph.nl/ . So maybe your bowl is unusual (early?) Triumph, or something quite-similar-to-but-not-quite Triumph! Ask Ruud what he thinks?

Thank You Leon! The float bowl I bought at the swap meet looks very much to the one shown in the pic you posted. Thank you for the good adress too! Jari
