Hi, I know very little about bikes and so feel like an interloper here, but I am hoping someone will be kind enough to help me identify these two bikes. They both belonged either to my father or grandfather. To me they look just pre-war but I have no idea what they are. I know my dad was very interested in dirt bikes and the Manx TT so they may have some connection to either. Having looked at thousands of pics through this website I am favoring Douglas, but I can't find an exact match. Any help gratefully received and apoligies if I am posting in the wrong place or breaking any etiquette.

The bike in the upper photo is a Douglas, possibly an E29 600cc model from around 1930?
Try the London Douglas Cub for more info?

The second bike is older, maybe early 1920's?

Thanks L.A.B. I looked on the douglasmcc website and found several pictures very close to my dad's pictures. I'll ask over there too. I really appreciate your help.

The second bike might (I think) be a New Hudson, of around 1922 or so.
I think there are some raised letters on the magneto chaincase, and they look like 'NH' to me.

The second bike has a second-half 1923 London registration. These registration records were destroyed on Swansea's instructions.
