Title: Value of original featherbed frame?

Hi Guys

I post this on behalf of my dad who have this original vintage featherbed frame.
It is belived to be an original manx frame because of the notch in the upper part of the frame for the cam drive?
I don't know very much about these bikes, so would be grateful for some more info from you guys.
My dads interests have changed towards BMW motorcycles, so he is looking to sell this frame, how much do you think it will be worth? BTW sorry for the pictures, they are taken with a cell phone.

As these things are being made by a number of firms these days you would need to come up with some confirmable  serial numbers for it to have any great value.

OK, think my dad have had it checked once before. Will look into the serial number again. Can you tell me what a genuine one go for?

It's not a Manx frame. It has the gusset under the headstock which is the most obvious feature of the roadster frames. All the single cylinder applications had the 'flat' on the inside edge of the upper right tank rail. It is most likely Model 50 or ES2 from 1959/60

Frame number will be stamped on the left hand swinging arm mounting plate.

As to value...it looks to be a fairly tidy example. The price in many countries is dependent on whether there are documents with it. It has become quite difficult in many European countries to build and register a  'special' such as a Triton.

I'd guess £400 - £600 but your location will be a big factor. (and I'm not a very good guesser !)

Looks like it's had the seat subframe altered to look like a wideline.
