Title: Re-posting_Identify this bike (pre-war?)
Post by: peterpajaro on March 01, 2011, 04:07:51 PM
Can anyone help identify this bike (hopefully the photo is attached this time). Photo found in an old family album. A guess at the year would be really helpful too!

I wonder if it's a 350cc OHV Humber from about 1928; much like this one http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/pictures/1928-humber-350-ohv/

The only doubt I have is about the long exhaust port on the head - notice that the exhaust pipe fastens to the head almost past the front frame tube. This doesn't seem to be the design of the 1929 model http://www.vintagebike.co.uk/pictures/humber-350cc-ohv-1929/ . Did Humber have a radical redesign of their heads around 1928?

Thanks Leon for your input. Looking at the photos that you posted it seems to me that the Humber is a good bet so i'm going with that unless I hear different. Thanks for your time and effort. Much appreciated.
