Title: Any Idea what this is?

Hi All,

I have been given the opportunity to restore this bike, but not sure what it is, maybe an old Triumph?  If you know i would really appreciate your help & any other information you can provide.

It looks like the remains of a BSA Bantam (possibly a D7 model?)

I'd leave it in the hedge for the pikeys, you can buy one for less than you'd spend on that.

That Bantam is no longer a motorbike, its hedge gap filler.

Or two pints of Lager for a pikey

Yes lots of Bantams around but that is because it was Britains most successful two stroke, possibly even overall Britains most popular bike........................in the car world tyou could liken it to the Morris Minor, simple but ever faithful.  All parts are easily obtained and relitively cheap, but remember a bantam wheel is just as expensive to restore as a Triumph wheel so try to do as much work to it yourself to keep costs down.  Indeed it is a 175cc D7 Bantam.....................of course it would be much cheaper buying one already restored but you wouldnt get the sense of achievement and satisfaction than if you restored this poor girl!

No lm not a Bantam fanatic, i grew out of them years ago, lol!

A restoration is only as good as the guy who put the bike together!.....................of course Bantams can be reliable, only dont ride them around at 70mph all day long, lol!
