Looks like AJS on the tank, so it could be an AJS R6 (350cc) or R8 (500cc) twin port single?

Is the registration number 'CK' or 'GK' ?

GK was a London County Council series issued September 1930 - January 1931. It looks more like 'CK' to me but that was a Preston range used from 1904 to October 1928 so it couldn't really fit with this saddle-tanker.

Its GK as I think they lived in central London at the time. The bike was nearly new at the time so that fits aswell. Before my grandmother passed away she said that this was the only time she tried to ride it but nearly crashed it in a field!

After more research it would appear that the pictures are from 1932. They did not marry til Nov 1931 and it looks too warm for winter so possible spring 32.
