I know this is a bad photo, I will try to get a better one.
My grandfather passed away and my mom is cleaning out his place and comes across this bike. Can anyone here help me find out what it is.
She is in Austria and the one thing she thinks is it is a German made bike.

Hi Luke,
The plate on the steering head of the frame should have info about the bike. Looks like a lightweight of late 1930s - 1950s.
Should be easy to identify, but tricky from this photo!

Thanks, I am not with the bike.
I am trying to figure out what it is and put a value on it for the family.
I asked for a better photo. A side shot should help better?
-
Yes, a side shot would be better. Also ask for someone to try and read the aluminium plate on the steering head. You can see it in the photo you have posted, in behind the headlight .
Cheers

Since there was no extra photo i''ll comment anyway , i think this is a Waratah . Which makes sence since it's located in Australia.
-
I thought it was in Austria... not Australia?!?!
-
To all the Yanks Austria is Australia! They don't do geography in American schools!
-
Hahaha now i feel like the movie dumb and dumber. I misread... austria is less then 700 Miles from here btw... I am not a yank ;)
So i guess an NSU or DKW is much more plausible

The identity plate on the headstock will give the make, year and capacity. Problem solved.
