We bought a 1972 TR6C that has been modified (regular street exhaust, HD Ceriani forks with flat-track steering head, etc.) that has been stored not-running for ten years. Its forks are adapted to the conical hub without the TRO1 kit that Ceriani offered; the pull-through axle depends on a hunk of old 1-1/2" water pipe and an oversized nylock nut to keep the spacing, and it doesn't work. Our brake plate isn't square to the wheel, and we can't be sure the bearings are really going to stay in place, in a worst-case scenario. Naturally, we want this classic to be as safe and functional as possible, so can't proceed until we get the right parts.
I found the illustration and listing of the parts in a vintage catalog, so I'm pretty sure I know what we have, etc. We've had no luck with the Ceriani website; are they still in business?
Does anyone know of the existence of the original adapter kit, or how to machine parts to simulate it safely? Also, we'd like to add the Ceriani steering tension adjuster to the steering head, if possible.
The forks are a very nice upgrade to this scooter, and we don't want to go backwards in that sense. Anyone have a similar setup, or know a solution?
