Title: bsa a7 engine in b31 frame ?
Post by: gary h on January 24, 2013, 08:17:42 AM
hi again to you all , in my quest to find a rigid a7 frame to go with my 49 a7 engine and all parts has been unsucessful , now then is there any out there who knows if a 49 bsa a7 engine will fit into a bsa b31 rigid frame ?? I would still rather have an a7 frame , but the longer I'm waiting I'm afraid it will never get sorted out , thanks for time .

No way. "B" rigids are an open type frame. Maybe an "M" frame but would still require modification. Keep looking, something will turn up.

Hi,
BSA frames were going pretty cheap on Evil bay UK earlier this year! for between a 1/3 & and a 1/5 of a  Norton Featherbed, there's a few specialist breakers still around http://www.owensmotorcycles.co.uk/ (http://www.owensmotorcycles.co.uk/),
yeomansmotorcycles.com (http://yeomansmotorcycles.com), mind you I am not saying they are cheap or anything, I nearly went for a Slimline chassis minus engine but decided the price was too high,  (from the latter), but that's just me.

Cheers

hi , thanks for that , just contacted them they have quite a few spares for everything , no rigid frame though , they have a plunger frame there and I may go for that ! shame I cannot find a rigid ,unless I just wait and hopefuly one will come up one day ,so unsure what to do , plunger or wait ! cheers again gary.
