Title: kickstarter problem
Post by: henryhoare on March 08, 2013, 09:29:33 PM
Can anyone help I have a problem with a kickstarter on a BSA B25, Every so often it goes out of mesh and locks up solid,  I found a slight bend on main shaft so changed that also changed quadrant and pinion but still got the problem.  Any help of suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Nearly every pommie bike does it. Don't worry about it.

Well Beesa's do... put it in gear and roll it forward to unlock it!

take a file to the leading tooth on the kick start quadrant and make it more of a point , its a hit and miss engagment problem , two teeth meeting , this may have bent the main shaft , b25s are usually kicked to death
