Help, please , how the hell do I clean this float tube ? it's about the width of a wire brush hair so drilling is out, the tube is brass but there appears to be an insert does this come out? No sarky comments Frank ;)

As if I would... maybe an oxy-acetalene torch tip cleaner!

gallon of thinners , turn the comp upto about 130psi and use your sprag gun to blast every hole you can see , don't hold it in your hand , best done out doors , and make sure the wifes not got the washing out , this will move varnish but doubt this machine has had 4 star fuel , works for a good general clean mind , split the carbs as its not good for some rubber ..........".I had to drill out the float bowl choke tube" which part have you drilled out ?

If the float bowl choke tube is the tube cast into the float bowl then yes that is the one that I drilled out :-( the choke tubes also appear to have 2 holes one either side about 5mm up from the base , will try thinners and comp air next week. Just got the first of the float needle out from number 1 and the whole needle assembly out from 4 which is now soaking in petrol. Thanks .

cast into the float bowl ..................... I think you may have scrapped that one , this other tube is it the float bowl vent ?

This was taken before cleaning, the tube I drilled is to the left of the top right bolt hole and joins the hole that can be seen back right in the middle of the float bowl. Hope that's OK.

Acrylic or lacquer thinners work for me. Need to soak for a couple of days and then blow with the air.
