anyone have experience of running the su on a pre unit ? ive fitted one but running rich , may try a weaker needle any advice
-
Can we ask if you have the one specified for a Triumph.
And the recommended needle.
And correct floatchamber.
SU apparently have approx a thousand different needles and settings suitable for all manner of things,
so being somewhere in the ballpark is somewhat essential.
Is the choke system returning to normal running position correctly ?

it is all standard mc2 , they sell 3 needles for this type at Burlen , rich , normal and weak , the nut is right up so in its weakest position but when the slide is lifted it does not try to cut out as I would expect but picks up , I have two on my MG . I will try the weak needle , the bike starts like no amal fitted triumph ever has . choke on first kick but ticks over too rich

Float height adjustment maybe ?

sorted now thanks , weaker needle fitted why it should need it god only knows as its fitted with the bigger valve iron head
