Title: 1927 BSA Gas Tank
Post by: silver-prof on August 29, 2017, 05:15:04 PM
Hi All,
I am new to the forum and I look forward to reading the posts and getting more informed on British bikes. I recently acquired a 1927 BSA S27 500cc. It is original and complete except for one major part--the gas tank. I have all the peripherals (oil pump, caps, knee pads, etc.). If you can help me locate one in any way I would appreciate it. It is a lovely bike that just needs a tank to be on the road again.
Thanks,
Ken

You're best bet would be to get one made. Take pics and measurements and contact a tank maker.
I'm guessing it's a flat-tanker at that age, and that makes it even easier.

Hi,
Send an email to jules.bsa.dassen@planet.nl
His website for vintage BSA's does not seem to work for me?

Be careful the 27 tank is different to the 23-26 ones

Hi Ken,

A tank for an S27 shouldn't be too hard to find - they were probably built in quite large numbers despite the Slopers coming on line at that time. It's a good honest vintage bike - hope you can get it up and going soon!

Cheers

Leon
