Title: BSA 53 Golden Flash
Post by: wheelman on August 28, 2007, 06:41:40 AM
I have a 52-53 Gold flash -pluger model & want some info.Did the early models all have the large valanced guards as seen on the later models. The front guard on mine has a ridge down the middle & is a normal size ( Non valanced ) whereas the rear is a flat guard with no ridge down the middle but a hinge rear portion for rear wheel removal even though it has the Crinkly QD hub.I think maybe the rear is orig but the front is off something else?? Any info appreciated

Hi, I think I may have brought two of these bikes, I haven't picked them up yet, I know they are 1950's and are 650 twins, with single seats.
any chance of a picture of yours wheelman ;)

Here's a 1957 photo of my dad's 1952 bike, untouched and original. Valanced front mudguard, hinged rear.
Sorry for the photo quality!
