Title: please identify these WWII era brit bikes

Hi everyone,

These are some pictures of my Grandfather, who rode bikes in WWII.  I would really like to know the model and year of them.

The first, I believe, is a Rudge Ulster, 1938-1939.

here are two images of his WWII bikes.  He landed on Normandy in the second, and saved this abandoned terrier.  He took it on the bike across France and Belgium.  Thanks in advance for any replies!

The military bike I think is a BSA M20 I notice that on the first bike the reg is FD which was a Dudley registration

Was your Grandfather CQMS with the West Surreys ? It looks like the "Mutton Lancers" badge on his cap.

The bike is certainly a WM20 and would have been quite new at the time.  C5213784 (I think) was part of contract S2603 for 8000 machines numbered C5207518 - C5215517 which was not completed until July 1944.

The vice mounted on the truck tailgate is a nice touch.

I don't think that the earlier bike is a Rudge. It looks Triumph to me but if so, there are plenty of Triumph experts here to advise the model.

Yes a Triumph, probably a Tiger 70 (250), or Tiger 80 (350) or possibly a Tiger 90 (500) model?
