Post by: emilios on May 09, 2008, 03:43:54 AM
Hi
My A10 plunger has the standard 19 teeth gearbox sprocket....if i put the 21 teeth sprocket for higher speed will i have gearbox problems?

No. I don't see why fitting a 21 tooth would cause any problems, but expect some loss of acceleration.

You'll  lose acceleration and go slower.
Most manufacturers overgeared their machines to make sure owners couldn't over rev them.
You'll probably find with your gearing idea the A10 will be faster in third gear than in top.
If you want the bike to be nippier drop the gearing a little, don't raise it.
Cheers.

Put a 22 tooth drive sprocket in my TR6R. Standard is 18 I think. (Too lazy to get up and look). Great for cruising; 3500 rpm's @ 65mph. Plenty of pick up. Glad I did it .
