Title: 192? Raleigh...
Post by: criticalmass181 on December 08, 2008, 09:18:25 PM
Hi all. I'm new to this, and will need some help to bring my 'new' bike out of the ashes. Is there anyone out there who can help me establish a definitive model, and manufacture date? I don't have any photo's, as yet, but would appreciate any assistance, if anyone out there is a Raleigh buff.

Hi mate,

I may be able to help. Im no Raleigh buff but I did spend quite a whilr trying to identify my dads Bike. It was supposed to be a 1924 2 3/4 HP model but I eventually ID'd it as a 1926 model 16.

If you can send some photo's that would make it easier but for now, can you tell me if it  is chain drive or belt drive, saddle tank or flat tank and any numbers that may be on the engine?

Cheers, Chris.

The Vintage Motor Cycle Club can identify your Raleigh, provide literature, owners handbooks, spare parts list & transfers. It has a Raleigh marque specialist who can be of great assistance with almost any Raleigh problem you come across. If you live in England it will also have a Section of the Club that meets near where you live.
It's great fun seeing all the bikes that appear on this forum and discussing them with their owners but if you're serious the VMCC is the only game in town.
Cheers,
