Title: Manx TT audio recordings
Post by: crgrbrts on January 24, 2006, 01:31:36 PM
As a vintage bike restorer and former racer, I'm very happy to have found this site!

I've noted that most of the sound files featured here are from a series of old gramaphone records (by the BBC, I believe) from Manx TT races of the '50's and '60's.  I once owned a set of these wonderful recordings but, alas, they were lost years ago.  Have these ever been re-released on CD?  If so, where can they be obtained?

Many thanks,

These recordings were made by Stanley Schofield, the narrator was Graham Walker [father of the legendary Murray Walker].
I will have a search around and see if I can find any info, will let you know if I do.

Yes, these were great recordings from those golden days, and I still have them here in our home in Bavaria along with a stack of classic music LP's :-)
