Title: CDI ignition
Post by: rosko on April 12, 2012, 01:18:44 PM
not quite bike, but bear with me as I am a purely magneto and coil man when it comes to these things.
I have in a rash moment bought a Taiwanese/Chinese quad bike, didn't realise it was  2stroke for one thing; wiring is a mess ,no key etc, loads of silly safety gadgets I have slung.
I can't get a spark on the damn thing,  can anyone tell me
a] how to check this cdi stuff
b] can I rig up a simple ignition circuit on it?
c] a basic non electro teckie explanation of how cdi works?
I understand that the cdi box relates some how to engine capacity?

Bike is a 100cc TGB [Taiwan golden bee!!!!!!] Hornet also sold under Apache brand
