Depends on the $price$, doesn't it.

And where you live.
Looks slow, no motorway flier....
Looks neglected too. ?
That should keep the $$ down.

I'm living in Republic Of Moldova and owner too. he sell it for 300 euro, with all documents and new immatricular number, i want it, i need it, but my father tells to me that better if i'll buy a big (cc) scooter,
I'm $%^&&'n  dont understand! i'm already restored many classic russian motorcycles and mopeds, but now, when i want to buy M62, my father want not to hear about it bike, he hate it!! and i dont know what to do, to obey father's opinion, to buy a big cc chinese scooter or to send father's opinion to hell and buy a M-62?

I would buy it if you really want it. I regret listening to my father and missing lots of opportunities. Maybe work on the price to get it down, needs a couple of wheels and a restore.

I agree with Murdo , if you have 300 (250) euros spare buy it, you´ll always get it back, with papers too.  My father made me sell vehicles which someone else made a lot of money on because I did not know that he did not know either.

One just sold via the Moto Guzzi Club GB for £3,000.  It was in a lot better condition and a lot newer.

they take a bit of getting used to when riding, they are not for the faint hearted . 60 mph would be flying on one and when cornering 40 mph is fast lol. you need to wrestle them a bit. great for occasional fun but for daily transport i wouldnt think of it.

they have a poor reputation in the UK , are these the ones built in the old cossak works ? a freind had one with a side car wheel drive , it did not last long but was more to do with him im sure , i have seen them fitted with BMW engines

It is because these machines are very capricious if you don't understand their construction when you trying to repair it, that machine need more attention. Many enthusiasts from USA, UK or Australia, when they can't find the manuals for, to example Ural M-72, they use manuals for BMW R71, because, how they think, construction of both machines is similar, and they use spare parts from BMW and install it on Ural, BUT NOT! that motorcycles is more different as you thought,, I personally restored a similar machine some years ago, it's true, restoring of that Ural was very difficult, how i wrote some rows before, these machines are very capricious, but knowledge about it comes only with practice, it is something like art, to understand that machine,  now, this Ural working like twice. ;)

If "clever" englishmen have no idea how to repair it, or to make it work like a Switzerland clock, well, it is their problem, if their hands grows from ass it is not a reason to call strong Russian motorcycles - "Urinal" >:(

Yes certainly! it was built in 1963! it isn't a museum showpiece, if someone, !who knows! how to reanimate that machine, has tried to repair it, it would be successful

I think maybe the problem is they where a copy of the BMW (but a very poor one) many resons for this , tooling , materials , bearings etc ,  they maybe better now but over here new the asking price is almost £12,000 (at expo last year) , so will never sell when the BMW outfit maybe about the same but has a good reputation and resale value , I read they got the tooling better in 1998 but need to change the name I think . innovation/quality  is not a term associated with the Ural brand

innovation.. no, but quality, oh! ok, i'm repeat again, only rightly exploited and repaired ural can be useful, strong and durable..

Ok, at this time, it's very complicate to find original parts and! in good condition for ancient Urals like k650 or M62, many of Ural's parts which are for sell are in bad condition, and it is a problem, restoring of that parts is very difficult and annoying, and no one can guarantee, that restoring of old parts would be successful, but if you do it very carefully and with "master's accuracy" every restoration would be successful

thats a problem in the UK , they dont seam to go for long as standard (some as low as 9000 miles before majory work required ) and we do not rebuild them as a rule because of very poor resale value , on ebay over here tax and mot Ural outfits offten appear @ £800 , so many just got scrapped , i read they where built for off road feild work , the roads over here just arnt that bad , maybe you buy them from here and take them back

;D it is not a good method for us, in my country prices for sovietic parts and motorcycles are very cheap, (in many cases we can find spare parts for RARE machines for cheap price, if these parts are sold by an old man ;D)  I just can show you some sovietic motorcycles which are for sale at the moment on most popular sales site in my country, like american ebay.
