Title: jaeger speedo 150mph

finaly bought the correct speedo for my panel tank Ariel (shepton) the speedo fitted now is a 150mph jaeger which i intend to sell to recover some of the out lay , what model/make was this speedo fitted to ?

I work on Chronometric instruments as a hobby. Just want to see the face and the drive type.

heres the pics , what the smiths rev clock is off ? but is cable and nice so I had that also , my correct speedo for the panel tank was not working (so have sent for a repair estimate) if its to much I will take to stafford for a return as was sold as fully working .

no joy on the speedo but the rev counters off a BMW

Could be off a Vincent ser B or even earlier,as the big speedo was an extra cost option.Matchless 650 csr s had a 150 mph speedo also,maybe a Jaeger for a foreign market.Of course this Smiths gear was available over the counter,and in the seventies local v8 race boats allways used chronometric tachos despite the high cost.So someone may have bought this for a race car,or bike.Regards John.

I can see that. Lucas seem to have moved to Germany too,last Lucas starter I bought was made in Deutschland.Regards.

Maybe...Smiths was a division of Joseph Lucas Ltd.It now appears to belong to Indians.Soon everything will belong to Chinese or Indians.Regards John.
