Title: Honda CM250

Hi guys,

I've just registered on the forum..so hi to everyone!

I need some help please.

I've just bought a Honda CM250 and thats all the information that I can get from the V5 and MOT certificate! Does anyone know which model this is? I think its a Honda CM250T-B, I've attached some pictures.

I bought a Haynes manual which I got from Amazon and its says:

Honda CD/CM185, 200 and CM250C Twins 1977-85 Owner's Workshop Manual (Motorcycle Manuals) Paperback – 1 Sep 1988

But on the back it then states: NOTE this manual does not cover the CM250T-B Custom available in the UK from 1982 to 1984

So the question is what model is this CM and which Haynes manual should I be using?

Welcome.
It looks like the 'custom' model to me with the double hump seat, fat rear tyre and the high bars.
What does it say on the identification plate on the steering stem?

I don't pick the bike up until tomorrow, I just called the bike shop and asked for the VIN number which is MC052000100 the Type is MC05

Just googled that and i got a hit and comes up as a Honda CM 250 TB Custom (MC05) 1982 (0250 CC) .

The burning question is which Haynes do I use as the one I bought says:NOTE this manual does not cover the CM250T-B Custom available in the UK from 1982 to 1984? ???

The mechanical bits would be the same I would think, just the body bits like seat, mufflers, handlebars, etc.
Wait till the bike arrives and check with the manual then.

Would suggest you have the CM250-TB - see 1982 Honda literature below. The TB model had the black painted comstar wheels.

As far as Haynes is concerned, your bike probably sits in between the one you mention (Honda CD/CM185 200T & CM250C 2-valve Twins (77 - 85)) and the one for the Honda CB250 & CB400N Super Dreams (78 - 84). Although this latter one doesn't mention your model, your engine and cycle parts are more similar to the Super Dreams.

Suggest that if you are buying parts from Silvers (http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/CM250T/) or elsewhere, best thing would be to quote your VIN or frame number to make sure they are compatible and that they fit.
