Hi beardyimpman,

The dummy rim front brake on the BSA L models is pretty useless, forget it if it rains :o
On mine and another I have substituted a 21in. wheel built onto a BSA C11 and a mk1 Le Velo front hub  ::)
At least these give some retardation
The original wheels can be refitted at any time if theres a valid reason, (sale or show?)
I suppose the choice is whether you intend to ride or show the bike ??

HI JOHN,thanks for the reply, i would like to keep the bike as origonal as possible, but your idea is very good if you are out for runs at least you have brakes, i also have a model p triumph which has same brakes, i dont do many runs so would go for origonal brakes, what size is the bsa rims are they 26 x 2,5,  could you give me the measurments of the front hub on your bsa and the number of spoke holes, also the same for the back wheel as i want to see it is the correct hub, thanks for your help greatly appreciated, john

Hi beardyimpman,
Well theres a hub, to start with   ??? Dutch lion seem to have a few more parts as well
Most parts were the same from 23 up to the 1927 year model introduction, but I believe that the petrol tanks changed in size and mounting measurements
Yes, 26 x 2.5 is the rim size,
I will measure up and do a spoke count in the next day or two
Is you bike sv or ohv?

Cheers
John

Hi John,
Some photos of the L25 wheel
The brake rim is 16 1/4in. diamater on the spoke side, 15 1/2 on the outside, 1"wide overall,
inside the V is approx 5/8in.
Wheel rim spoke pattern is cross 4
Let me know if you need any more details
Mine is an ohv approx 1924
