Title: Fuel Tap
Post by: owltimer on October 02, 2016, 08:58:54 AM
Hi, I am looking for a fuel tap for a Suzuki u50, would anyone have one, know where I might get one or even know the thread size which would enable me to purchase an aftermarket one. It is the type with the double sided nut that attaches to both the tank and the tap.
                                                                       Cheers

Hi Murdo
Thanks for the reply, I will check them out for one, unfortunately ebay have them in numerous thread sizes and I am not sure of the thread size I require.

CMS don't list anything for a U50. I am sure that the factory would have used the same tap on a number of different models, so you may be able to find one that way. Is it the whole tap you need, or just rubbers? If new rubbers try npr-carbs.co.uk
If you are in UK, what about Crooks Suzuki, Robinsons Foundry or Suzuki UK? I see in the Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine that they are building up a supply of old stock to help restorers.
Here is a parts list manual, may help you.

Good luck with the search.

Thanks for that again, I will try npr carbs as I would get away with the rubbers, I tried ordinary rubber o rings in but they didn't do at all. Cheers
