Title: To be a GP frame or not to be
Post by: stevestriumph on August 21, 2017, 10:32:34 PM
Greetings
I need to confirm whether the frame I have is a genuine Triumph GP race frame or just a Tiger 100c that could be set up with a race kit. Frame (rear section) is marked F1629. Please see attached pics. and your feedback would be appreciated. Steve

F1629 sounds like a casting number. Does the standard frame for this year have it too, or does it have a different number?

Hi Steve,

I guess you know that the GP frame has an "R" suffix on its frame number. However so faked are Triumph GPs that even if you have the R suffix you will need a real expert to authenticate the frame as genuine GP.

I suppose the Triumph Marque expert at the VMCC would be best?

Good luck.

Leon
