Title: MOT change of rules for imports.
Post by: A10 JWO on August 22, 2017, 03:38:31 PM
Just lifted this from a well known forum.
May help people with NOVA bikes if it is true ? An API Lamby is an import Lambretta probably from India.

QUOTE.

Just been to my local MOT station to get my import API Lamby motd prior to sending off for its registration. Had the fun of driving 10 mile with no plates on, only to get to the centre to be declined.
Apparently there are "new rules".
The gist of them is that even though I had my insurance docs, frame number and engine number and my dating letter from the LCGB - they wouldn't MOT it.
Apparently you need the old reg details, or a NOVA document which states the date of first reg, or a letter from the manufacturer confirming the age.

Not really a problem, is it?
The bloke must have a NOVA certificate if he's starting the registration process, (which the MOT is the first step of) so just take it along.
