Can anyone please identify the attached? It has a number, looks somewhat Sturmey Archer to my eye, but? Suggested value would be even better.

SA boxes usually said so on them ?
Looks to be for a lightweight (?), so its not going to be of immense value.
Looks to be in very good order.
Tricky to identify from that view, not the usual angle you see them from.
A head on view of the business end of it may be more helpful ?
Its a chaindrive/belt drive specimen, obviously,
There were quite a variety back then, names mostly faded into obscurity.
Are you in the UK or europe, that may have some bearing on its origins,
and are the fasteners imperial or metric.
Someone familiar with this variety will hopefully leap in...

Early 1920s lightweight two speed?

Its value is what it will fetch at an auction or on ebay.
If there are only two examples left of the bike that used it, and both have working gearboxes, then its almost worthless.
If there are 10 examples left and none of them have working gearbox, then its down to the buyers to set a price according to their pockets.

Very true.
Radco sales advertising lists a 2 speed Albion chain/belt drive in the teens, as well direct belt drive.
And in 1920 were offered with Burman 2 or 3 speed boxes (still chain/belt drive ?).
Kickstarters were listed as optional too.
Suspect your box is the Burman, but we'd have to see more of the business end of it.
2 or 3 speed will make some difference.

Thanks all, to add something of what I do know, as will be seen from the next photos, yes it has a kick start, Numbers stamped on are 1558. I hope this shwos what folks are meaning by the "business end"
