The rigid frame, barred tank, headlamp nacelle and alloy brake plate all make it an early 1950s 500cc  Speed Twin. There was a 650 model introduced about then, I'm not sure if it had quite the same look.

You are right, those pipes are not how it left the showroom.
If those are open megaphones, you could have heard it coming from quite a ways away,
which was the whole idea !!

Great photo, is that your mum ?

And in the brochure

this is June and Jackie in the usa so its an export model .
looking at tank logo with 4 stripes that would make it 1950 and rigid frame up to 1953 .

well spotted ... I can just see the tank rack

2 saddle seats , both sprung I guess
fork tins have chrome ring at front gaurd level
obviously has a side stand aswell as rear stand
remembering this is marlon brando era "wild ones" movie so Id say americans were buying triumphs like crazy

Ive just been reading about the T6 thunderbird 1950 intro so yes that is a possibility too .
so ... polychromatic blue or marroon paint ...
Im searching site and net for colours at the time
