Got any photos of what we're looking at?

Parts list might help:

Looks like a bolt through the pedal (29) although a poor image.

Undo bolts 27 and 29 and lift off.

I'm unable to attach the pictures. All bolts removed and the pedal rotates on the spigot/shaft with the female thread. I thought the female threaded insert was peened over preventing removal but I've removed the burr and still cant get it off. Thanks for the replies.

Do you know of the VJMC (Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club Inc) or any area branches locally that have people with similar bikes that may be able to help you?

I've managed to remove it. The pedal rotated ok on the inner/frame part of the spigot but was tight to point of seizing when moved towards removing. Copious amounts of WD40 and 3 in one appeared to be removing 46 years worth of rust. 2 hours of rotating the pedal no doubt helped but pouring boiling water onto the pedal boss to expand it also helped and after drifting and hammering it finally came off. Now for the power coating! Thanks for the help folks.
