Title: Tank sealant
Post by: Rex on March 22, 2008, 05:12:15 PM
Has anyone ever found a way to remove petrol/gas tank sealer?
One of my tanks has been done badly, so I need to remove it and redo it.
The local Dip'n'Strip place failed, as did NitroMors paint stripper, and I'm getting desperate!

I haven't used tank sealant (except liquid metal, from the outside!) but I am aware that the people below could be emailed as I am led to believe they sell the appropriate sealant removers. Give it a try, they may be able to help.

tankcareproducts@hotmail.com

Thanks, I've paid for a tin of sealant remover; hope it does what it says on the tin!
BTW it's .co.uk at the end, not .com

BTHTFY,WN (Bite the hand that feeds you, why not!)

I wrote"I am aware that the people below could be emailed......"

I then wrote their email address which ends in @hotmail.com

I didn't put www.tankcareproducts.co.uk because that would mean I was an idiot.

That's because the web page says "Need any advice on how to use our products? Telephone 07834415921 Monday to Friday or email: tankcareproducts@hotmail.com

It's a good job I'm not a pedantic ......................

No call for any of that. My correction was info for anyone else who may need this stuff, not to be "clever" to you.

I apologise, I'd had a bad day at work dealing with the public. I had also mentioned to my colleagues, that very day, that the use of acronyms, smileys and text abbreviation were pet hates of mine.
However, your original correction and subsequent reinforcement of it were incorrect as the email address ends @hotmail.com as I previously stated.
I also lied because I am a pedantic .......!

Yes, and if you want to go to the web-site and actually view and buy something, you'll have to use .co.uk.
Thanks again for the link, and feel free to have the last word, if it's important.

BTW, you can't be "a pedantic". The word is "pedant".

Let's end this and agree to disagree.
I originally stated the EMAIL was tankcareproducts@hotmail.com (this is correct!).
You corrected me and stated it was .co.uk (incorrect).
I then corrected you giving the email address again and the web address, so that there was no confusion. I ended my emails deliberately in the fashion:
I am a pedantic ........
(thus allowing the reader to choose a word of their own to replace the full stops).
Perhaps I am just a nit-picking b*s*a*d!
