Japanese Bikes / building the typical racer

new here,hello 
can any one point me in the right direction to build a 500/4 or 750/4.i've looked in classic mags for relevant web sites and cant find any also googled it to no avail. would it be easier just to buy a racer and get a day light only mot on it. i know these are daft questions but i dont want to ride crotch rockets any more and have always fancied something different and the noise of classic race bikes are very appealling
