British Bikes / Re: HELP. Front number plate fixing clips wanted

I have a Bantam and a Bonnie and both have differing clips for the number plate to the front guard. I advise that you first get hold of an old picture or your model and/or check the spares book diagrams to verify & identify the type beforehand.

My 175 Bantam used to overheat on recommended oils at 24:1 I tried MOTUL 800 synthetic oil (same ratio) and she seems to run a bit cooler.

Did you decide to get the dampers? I have a D175 with the same problem. I bought these (see pix) but they are too long and lift the centre stand up making the parked bike unstable; so are the new ones you got the same size as the originals (length and diameter)? also can the outer shrouds that cover the springs be taken off to resemble my model D175?

British Bikes / Maglitas

I have a Maglita (M-L Magneto Synd., Ltd Coventry, England). It has various numbers and markings round it but I need a source of information to identify it and the models it might be used on. Can anybody steer me in the right direction please?

Another thing to consider - oil pressure - I have a 70 Bonnie and, on a recent rebuild, contemplated a rotary pump but decided against due to increased pressure mentioned in the specs. Now that I have installed an inline oil filter this is when the rotary pump might be better employed. The extra pressure you now have may be pushing passed the valve guides!
