Identify these bikes! / Ariel Red Hunter 500 1937 - Which of these two heads is correct?

Hi all,

We are building a 1937 Ariel 500 and have noticed that the head on the engine (which doesn't look like it has been apart) is different to what we been told is the "correct" 1937 head.

Attached are photos of both heads and we would keen to understand which is correct.

Head 1: Head bolt mounting lugs are recessed below the top of the fins and there appears to be redundant oil line lugs near each valve guide.
Head 2: Head bolt mounting lugs are above the top of the fins and there are no oil line lugs near the valve guide

I am chasing a BSA 1928 350 Sloper OHV rocker assembly for a project - needs to be complete with internals. I may have some Sloper bits to swap or will pay a good price.

I am building a L28 Super sport and need the alloy rocker box (with rockers). If anyone has photos or info for this model it would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me if you are restoring one and would like to exchange ideas (or frustrations)!!
