Identify these bikes! / Another mystery bike - photo taken in Shetland
« on: April 07, 2017, 10:34:05 AM »
Hi All,

Here's a pic of another mystery bike, taken in Shetland.  Actually, it isn't a mystery in terms of identity - I think it is a 'New Henley' (?) . . . . . . . but there's very little on info. available on the Internet.

What size engine would this have ?

Presumably, there are very few of these bikes around today ?  Anyone ever seen one ?  Out of interest, what kind of value might such a bike have today ?

I wonder why the company folded ?  Too much competition ?  Too expensive . . . . . . . or lack of perceived quality ?

Hi,

First, apologies for the poor quality of the photo; there might just be enough on show for someone to be able to identify this bike.  The photo was certainly taken in Shetland - I'm guessing, in the 1920s ?.

Thank you for any comments.

Identify these bikes! / Mystery Old Bike

Hi there,

For many years, my late Uncle & Aunt owned a motorbike (See pic).  Sadly  :(, I never asked the make & model - which is why I am asking help from the many experts on this forum.

I found a very small photo of the motorbike and I decided that it would be interesting to find out more about it.  I don’t own a motorbike, or even have a bike licence, but if I did, I’d certainly have an older bike – I love the styling.

The number-plate of the bike, is KC4395.  My Aunt looks quite young, so I wouldn’t think the photo is much after 1920 . . . or perhaps it is earlier than that ?  The bike looks quite impressive – in my opinion, the engine looks a decent size.

If you can tell me anything about it, it would be much appreciated.  Feel free to share or use the photo as you feel appropriate.

Best wishes,

Andy
