I think you engine looks similar to a FN m200 1933 2stroke engine, but the one who is build by Ogar in the CZ in licence from FN Belgium.
That engine got is a gearbox with engine all in one.
Please send me a mail to fn.oldtimers@telenet.be, I will send you some pict from a m 200-250 2 or 3 speed engine and the OGAR CZ bike.

Super thanks for the information mister 33d6;

I’ve got some work to do and I will inform you about the progress in the lining up primary chain and rear chain.

I’ve learned daily more and more about Villiers and Albion.

This is my first bike with a external gearbox, all FN motorcycles got those build in, on Sarolea use the British way and use a separate gearbox, but I do not own any Sarolea.

I will start in the coming weeks with the lining up of engine-gearbox-rear end.

Hello Sirs,

I've got some Albion questions, as i am restoring a lightweight 200cc FN but German built, when I've got the bike there where 2 gearboxes included!!

One got a strange clutch using a bigger axe with splines and 3 cork plate and 1 ferodo and a damper in rubber.

The second one contains 2 cork plates and is the half smaller, I think the original one!!

A other question in guiding the shift lever I've got 2 models, witch one do you suggest to use??

I've read already a lot in this forum about Albion!!

So please gentlemen, my I ask your opinion in that matter to overhaul that gearbox.

Hello 33d6,

Thank you Sir, this was the missing information that I needed and thanks to you, I am now a hughe step forward.

Last evening i’ve made some extra research on the internet  and even I found a you tube movie who explains the working of a doubler lever system and it was on a villiers copy carburettor made for the German market and calls a FRAMO E Carburettor, identical to a villiers brass carburettor, and I presume all things are in metrics.

I will be now on the internet hunt for the book “The Villiers Engine” in second of third edition and the spare parts list for a 6E engine.

I deeply appreciate your help and keep you informed about the progress of rebuilding that strange only 5 bikes knows German FN motorcycle in Europe.

If I need further information, i will contact by this superb forum.

British Bikes / Struggling with a right type of villiers carburettor

Hello, I am restoring a rare FN motorcycle build for the German market, it contains a Villiers 196cc 1E engine with Albion 3 gearbox and it must build around 1930-31.
For the carburettor I need a Middle/weight model with a jet number 3 and needle taper 3 1/2.
So far so good i’ve found already a carburettor but it seems be a brass MK3, the one now is not a single or double lever but only a slide control?
My question: Is it easy to rebuild a carburettor to a single or double lever control.
And how do I recognise a Middle Weight villiers carburettor??

I lived in Bruges Belgium and I owns a lot of FN motorcycles and mopeds.
